RapidScan Tally System
Sierra RapidScan is a Patented End-Tally system for use in Measuring and Counting
Lumber.

RapidScan system is based on taking measurements by a laser-beam and a special ruler. Sierra DigiTally operator holds the RapidScan ruler and fires
a laser-beam. That's all. There is no need to manually read the ruler and then enter the
measurement; this is an outdated 2-step process, it is not only
slower but increases chance for errors. With the
RapidScan method, the same value that is measured is the same value that is scanned, and saved. 1 simple trigger
action performs multiple steps quickly and accurately. And, there are no cables or attachments to complicate the operation. Flexible stainless steel ruler is easy to move across the
pack.

By a single trigger-action, the RapidScan system performs all of the following tasks:
- Measure
- Count
- Compute BF (or M3)
- Compute Totals
- Compute Average Length (Pack)
- Compute Average Width (Pack)
And, all of the above happens within one second.
Tallying lumber with Sierra DigiTally RapidScan system is easy, fast, and accurate.
Today's modern warehouse/yard operator simply scans boards across the pack.
There is nothing to read or enter, it's just pointing and shooting the scan-gun. Once the pack is tallied, operator can print barcoded labels. Data that is collected
is also sent to a desktop PC via wireless network or through the device cradle connection.
